allow item formats
I have used CarbonFin for data entry on an iPad since Numbers is so primitive. For data entry, it would be helpful to be able to specify for each item the initial keyboard mode for adding text to it: numeric or alphabetic, and lower case, capital, or locked upper case, analogous to the way a spreadsheet cell can be formatted as text or numeric.

add text to voice to the application
I'm an active user of your outliner and also a pilot. I have created checklists for use in various stages of flight. If I could "hear" the line I'm suppose to do next then I could keep my head up and accomplish the task without distraction of looking at the item. When the task is completed, then I would like to say "CHECK" and go to the next line. This application should be first developed for an iPad or iPhone as most flight applications use this platform and it needs to be independent of internet during flight.

Dropbox for Online
Why can’t I work on Outlines stored in Dropbox with Outliner Online? I work on iPad and MacBook. Don‘t want to switch apps or import/export back and forth all the time. The CarbonFin storage is not an alternative: I can‘t rely on something free I don‘t know anything about. Sorry.

Interface Revisions
Simplifying/streamlining some interface elements would be nice. Like the icons for individual outlines on the "Home" page. And the disclosure triangles and "diamond bullets" for each list item. These get kind of busy and crowded, especially if an item is also a task with a check box.

Scroll Up and Scroll Down
It takes time to scroll down to the last item in a list or the first. Could we have a button for doing these functions?

Carbon Fin in the dock
I just put Carbon Fin in the dock on my Mac with this AppleScript:
tell application Safari
open location https://cfoutliner.appspot.com
activate
end tell(Put quotation marks around Safari and around the location address above. They don't show properly when I place them in this message.)
Save as a script, paste the Carbon Fin logo over the tiny generic logo in the upper left hand corner of the "get info" box for the saved script and then drag it into the dock.

add Textexpander support
the use of textexpander snippets would make outliner even better (like entering a date or often used names or titles, etc.)
7 votesAdminCarbonFin (Developer, CarbonFin) respondedTextExpander was supported in a much earlier version. However, it had to be removed at one point due to iOS incompatibility. By the time TextExpander was compatible again, the OS had native support for simple text replacement, so it was never added back. See Settings > General > Keyboard.

restore
I would like to have a function to restore the possibility of accidental deletion or a message to confirm once deleted.

After editing note in existing list
After editing note in existing outline ensure 'Done' puts you back in same position/item to which note was attached. At present it seems you are returned to a different part of the outline requiring scrolling back to said item and before proceeding to next item in list - assuming you are examining outline in a linear way.
Otherwise, love the app which I've used for a few years now.

Allow hyperlinks
I would like to have the ability to add a hyperlink. I compare prices for items I buy in the supermarket and it would be nice to have hyperlinks to go to the other web pages.

Add "Copy and Paste" in the web version
Useful for reusing an item structure many time. As far as I can see, it's currently available only in the iOS version.

Have a red dot placed on all items (on its arrow) that have items under them.
The red dot would act as as alert.

Support Emacs Outline form for Import *AND* Export
Emacs Outline form is a simple outline form that can be worked with in any text editor. Therefore, supporting it for import/export would automatically make Carbonfin's Outliner more useful to users across a wider range of platforms without the need to port Outliner to those platforms. Emacs Outline form is described here: http://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/manual/html_node/emacs/Outline-Format.html#Outline-Format

Add support for OPML 2.0
I love the iOS interface, but I bought Outliner hoping that I could interoperate with emacs org-mode on my computer using https://github.com/edavis/org-opml . The workflow would be very nice using Outliner with Dropbox Sync: just open the Dropbox file in emacs to edit on a computer, and the changes should sync back to iOS outliner.
Unfortunately that library only supports OPML 2.0. My feature request is to export OPML 2.0 instead of OPML 1.0 when saving to Dropbox.
Thanks for considering!

improve the web application; e.g. folders or tag for organising; optimised layout
please add the "open in" function so that I can open an outline in any mind mapping file or any app using opml
