  1. Carbon Fin in the dock

I just put Carbon Fin in the dock on my Mac with this AppleScript:

    tell application Safari

    open location <a rel="nofollow noreferrer" href="https://cfoutliner.appspot.com">https://cfoutliner.appspot.com</a>

    activate

    end tell

(Put quotation marks around Safari and around the location address above. They don't show properly when I place them in this message.)

Save as a script, paste the Carbon Fin logo over the tiny generic logo in the upper left hand corner of the "get info" box for the saved script and then drag it into the dock.

  2. Scroll Up and Scroll Down

It takes time to scroll down to the last item in a list or the first. Could we have a button for doing these functions?

  3. add Textexpander support

the use of textexpander snippets would make outliner even better (like entering a date or often used names or titles, etc.)

TextExpander was supported in a much earlier version. However, it had to be removed at one point due to iOS incompatibility. By the time TextExpander was compatible again, the OS had native support for simple text replacement, so it was never added back. See Settings > General > Keyboard.

  4. restore

I would like to have a function to restore the possibility of accidental deletion or a message to confirm once deleted.

  5. After editing note in existing list

After editing note in existing outline ensure 'Done' puts you back in same position/item to which note was attached. At present it seems you are returned to a different part of the outline requiring scrolling back to said item and before proceeding to next item in list - assuming you are examining outline in a linear way.

Otherwise, love the app which I've used for a few years now.

  6. Add "Copy and Paste" in the web version

Useful for reusing an item structure many time. As far as I can see, it's currently available only in the iOS version.

  10. Add support for OPML 2.0

I love the iOS interface, but I bought Outliner hoping that I could interoperate with emacs org-mode on my computer using https://github.com/edavis/org-opml . The workflow would be very nice using Outliner with Dropbox Sync: just open the Dropbox file in emacs to edit on a computer, and the changes should sync back to iOS outliner.

Unfortunately that library only supports OPML 2.0. My feature request is to export OPML 2.0 instead of OPML 1.0 when saving to Dropbox.

    Thanks for considering!

  12. Support Emacs Outline form for Import *AND* Export

Emacs Outline form is a simple outline form that can be worked with in any text editor. Therefore, supporting it for import/export would automatically make Carbonfin's Outliner more useful to users across a wider range of platforms without the need to port Outliner to those platforms. Emacs Outline form is described here: http://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/manual/html_node/emacs/Outline-Format.html#Outline-Format

  14. Quick Note Entry

Please add ability to quickly add a note to a task line. Through gesture, keyboard shortcut or dedicated icon. Having to press four times makes it a tedious process.

  15. Add spreadsheet style ability to count numbers inside square brackets within a node or sub node.

This idea would be handy for budgeting minded shoppers. Eg. Fruit salad [$4]
Like a spreadsheet it will count in a column or child node. This could be a toggle on/off for each new child node if you want it active. [$X] an open and closed bracket is needed along with dollar sign for each line in child node to be counted if feature activated.

People could use this for calculating travel plans for example. Dropping in and out of the child node list items to fine tine costs. Would save alot of time having to manually calculate.

  16. Allow users to enter either an x or a checkmark on lists so items that may not apply one time, can still be available for future uses of the

I use this for packing lists but often there are items that aren't applicable for this trip, that I want to keep on the list for future trips

  17. Synchronize tags associated with outlines across devices.

When I create an outline on one device and associate a tag with it I can categorize the outline into groups. These tags, however, are not carried forward during synchronization through dropbox. I suggest adding the ability to synchronize tags through the automatic synchronization feature within Outliner.

  18. have setting to choose default for new outlines, task on/off

Currently, new outlines default to having the task tick box. Mostly I use outlines for planning and don't want that but when importing an existing outline from my Mac it defaults to on and has to be changed, line by line, manually.

  20. Archiving, tagging and synced order to online version to mirror iPad/iPhone

Others have asked for the tagging (to hide genres you aren't working on right now) too for the online version, not a new request I see. My addition to this is the arching as I want to keep completed projects but not see them online. The online version lets you reorder the outlines from the default order of creation but I don't see why I have to do it again if I've done it already on the iPad. I basically want the interface to mirror the way it works on the iPad.
